This year TVSS presents our 18th annual festival. We are happy to announce that the festival will once again be held in Madison, Alabama at Dublin Park. TVSS has received a warm welcome from the city of Madison and we believe this will be our best festival!
One of the best parts of being Scottish, or being of Scottish descent, or just being interested in "things Scottish" is being able to attend the numerous Festivals, Gatherings and Games that are held throughout the United States.
These showcases of Scottish Heritage are colorful, noisy, exuberant, and a great deal of fun. They range from huge productions such as Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina the "grandfather" of all American Games, to smaller local activities such as that produced by the Tennessee Valley Scottish Society at Dublin Park in Madison, Alabama. But no matter the size, all of them have commonalities which make them wonderful for the entire family.
Gathering of the Clans
One of the most important aspects of any Scottish Festival or Games is the kinship and camaraderie between the people who attend. Many of these people see each other only at Scottish Games but it is always "old home week" when they get together.
Many Scottish Clans are represented throughout the United States. The majority of them have established societies with area representatives who attend the various games to provide information on their Clan to the public.
